This year my boys have really been into football. For weeks they have been asking if the SuperBowl was on - even though the Steelers (Matthew's favorite team for some unknown reason) didn't make the playoffs. So, I decided to make it a fun event for them and since I was going through the effort for little boys, I thought we would invite some big boys and their families over to join us. We had green chili burros, chicken tacos, YUMMY guac (thanks Carol), 7-layer dip, chili queso, chips, a football cake, and mini-cupcakes (so adorable and so easy)! At half-time, the kids all decorated heart-shaped sugar cookies (since Valentine's Day was coming up soon). It turned out to be a fun evening!
FYI - I will try to post recipes for some of the yummy food in the next week (but we will see how the week goes).

How fun!!! Spencer would be so jealous . . . we don't watch sports on Sunday so Lance and him watched it first thing Monday morning. Football has become huge in our house the past couple of years also. Spencer doesn't play but LOVES to watch, play games in the back with friends, and play video games.
Can't wait to see the recipes.
You guys are much better than us - some day maybe we will be strong and not watch sports on Sunday!
Whatever - we made a list before we got married of things we were not going to do with our kids and I think this is the only one we've stuck to and that's probably only because I don't like to watch sports!
