Still Here

I just realized it has been almost 2 weeks since I last blogged - and that was only a picture. So I thought I would put another picture up to say we are still here and doing well. Just busy and having fun!

Happy LOVE Day!

Happy LOVE day everyone! I have been so busy making Valentine treats and Valentine's that I have had no time to scrapbook/blog. Here is my new centerpiece for my kitchen table (it is filled with Valentine candy corn from Wal-Mart). I don't always have that table cloth on the table - put it there for a party and didn't take it off. Anyway - I just wanted to wish you a happy Valentine's day and say:

Get out of the bitter barn and play in the hay!
(that is a quote from Friends from my college days - can anyone tell me who said it? We even put it up on our living room wall back then - Valentine's day is much happier these days)

White Corn Guacamole Recipe

Ever since I tried the White Corn Guacamole at California Pizza Kitchen years ago, I have wanted to find the recipe. I finally took a little time and googled it. I found this copy cat recipe and it is so YUMMY! I use more avocados and lime juice than the recipe calls for but it really is tasty. It is kind of a dump recipe - simple to adjust to your tastes. Enjoy!

Puppy Love

No, not real puppies! Just little kiddos dressing up like puppies, acting like puppies, and eating "puppy food" - aka scooby snacks (that I can only find at Target - they look like bones). These pictures are from October but I don't have anything recent to post so you get old stuff - but aren't they cute!

Happy Birthday Dad!

My dad would have been 66 today! Boy do I miss him! He died 15 years ago this August (so 14.5 years ago). He was the most amazing man and dad! It breaks my heart to think of all that he has missed in my life (or really that I have missed not having him here for). He missed me getting my Masters - but he was here for me graduating high school and college. He missed me getting married - but he was there for my first date. He missed all my kids being born - but he was there when I was born (even though from the stories, he almost missed it). He missed all my kids birthdays - but was there for the first 24 of my birthdays. The list could go on and on - he has missed a lot but was still there for so much! And I am so grateful for the time I had with him and all that he taught me. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him and wish he was still here. I love you daddy!
