Ear Infections Make for a LONG Week!

I'm sure that lots of you have had weeks similar to mine (especially this time of the year). It actually has been a little more than a week but I am really hoping it is almost over (but I am not going to hold my breath). Cameron started acting fussy (which is NOT normal at all for him or Kesley) and had a slight fever two Thursday's ago. I didn't think much of it since it is winter and kids get sick. Then he barely slept Saturday night and then only when I was holding him. Of course, pediatrician's don't work on Sunday (unless so sick you need to go to the hospital) so we had to tough it out another day and night. That meant not much sleep again. By the time I got him to the doctor on Monday, his left ear had burst (so he felt a little better for a few minutes). They gave him amoxicillin. He seemed a little better but still cried a lot and wasn't sleeping much! Then Thursday Kesley started to do all the same things - crying, not eating, not sleeping. So I took her to the pediatrician's after hours. She also had an ear infection. Thursday night was a rough night for the twins, Brecken (he woke-up because he was poopy - UGH), and for me - did I mention that Ed was out of town? Friday I called the doctor about Cameron and they said I had to bring him in since it had been more than 3 days. So to the doctor we went (4th time in a 5 days - I had also taken Brecken in for his HORRIBLE eczema and a nasty rash). Of course, Cameron's ear was still infected and oozing puss. So he is now on augmentin. I hope it works. Kesley is still having a really hard time - she just cries and will NOT sleep. I might need to call and get her on something stronger. Oh well. They are cute and one day I will get sleep again - there are way worse things in the world! At least Ed is back in town!

Oh my gosh, Michelle. I will keep all of you in my prayers....including peace of mind for you! I hope the medicine works quickly and none of the other kids get sick (or you!). It's hard to believe that you've made time to scrapbook/blog...but it may be the only thing that you're doing for yourself right now that's fun.
So glad you've got Ed home again.

Oh goodness... I am SO sorry! That is totally the pits. I hope things get better at your house soon. Glad Ed's back :) You're ONCE AGAIN and amazing mom! Your kids are truly lucky to have you. (I think I've said this before though)

Ugh. We've had a similar 10 days. Chandler's still got something! I'm thinking it might be his ears. Poor kids!
