I was SOOOOO extremely nervous about Cameron's visit to the Burn Center today. To me, his fingers look HORRIBLE (but what do I know - I do know they look better but I didn't know how much better they looked). The doctor was very happy about how good they look. His pinky finger was all better (but we already knew that). His middle finger was "healed" according to the doctor. I wouldn't say healed - he meant it wasn't an OPEN WOUND anymore. So I don't have to wrap that finger anymore. His ring finger looks a lot better but is still open some - but the doctor is confident it is going to heal so
NO SKIN GRAFTS!!!!! I can't even begin to explain what a relief that is! I can't keep this little guy to keep anything on his fingers as it is (last night we SEWED a sock to his pjs so he couldn't pull everything off) so I was really worried about dealing with all of that - but mostly worried about the pain he would be in.
We don't go back for a month, unless there are problems or concerns or if I start to feel scarring in his fingers (hope I can figure out what that feels like). For the next little bit, I have to keep wrapping his ring finger and have him wear the splint at night. He still needs to wear a sock on his good hand to encourage him to use his right hand - but they but a new tubing/wrap thing over his bandages that we HOPE he will leave alone. I do have to clean and re-dress it once a day (or more when he pulls the bandages off). There are exercises I have to do with his fingers to make sure everything keeps working correctly and I have to try to get him to use his fingers more. But considering all that could have happened, this is nothing. I don't mind doing all of this at all. I am just so happy he still has fingers and that he doesn't have to have skin grafts! Happy day!

Hooray for good news! I have laughed at the sock pictures (esp. the one with his arm out the neck of his pajamas), but have felt sad for his little hand. I'm glad he is healing well.
My goodness, how scary. But like you said, what a relief at the same time. I'm glad that he is healing so well. We will keep praying for the little fella!
Hi Darlin' Michelle
I put his name in the LA Temple as
