1st SPORTS Saturday of the Season

Dallin had a BYE today (so no football game) so we only had THREE games today, all soccer games.

Game 1: Brecken (#4) on the SILVER team

This was Brecken's FIRST EVER soccer game!  He ran around not sure what to do and copying the other kids most of the game but there were a few times that he actually KICKED the ball!  Even though they don't keep score, his team still won something like 8 or 9 to zero.  Brecken had a great time!

 Game 2:  Gavin (#10) on the GOLD team

I LOVE this year of soccer!  They finally have a goalie and they start playing positions.  The kids really seem to catch on - it is so much fun to watch!

The first for his team this season!  He was super excited!  I wish I had gotten him celebrating!

 Game 3:  Matthew (Goal KEEPER in bright green and later #88) on the white team

Matthew plays club soccer and LOVES it!  He LOVES playing KEEPER (goalie but now they are called KEEPERS) - but I HATE it!  It makes me so nervous!  He is pretty good at it and boy can he kick that ball!

 Matthew was KEEPER the whole first half and then he played STRIKER (which is just a forward as far as I can tell - guess I should stop taking pictures and pay more attention).

 Matthew ALMOST scored a goal!  He had his foot on the ball, about to kick it into the goal when the other keeper but his hands on it so Matthew had to stop kicking the ball.

It was a LOT of soccer but it is so much fun to watch my boys play!  I can't wait to watch Dallin play football soon and to watch LOTS more soccer!
