They're HUGE and Coming OUT!

Yesterday I finally got to take Brecken to the ENT to see about getting his tonsils out.  All 3 of his older brothers had to have their tonsils taken out when they were barely 2 (Gavin was the oldest at 2 1/2) because they had sleep apnea (we have Matthew on video not breathing for up to 40 seconds at a time, all night long).  Brecken is starting to have sleep apnea but it isn't too horrible yet - except it wakes him up all night long and he wakes up, after being in bed and sleeping for 12 hours, EXHAUSTED.  The bigger problem with his tonsils right now is they are so big that he gags/chokes on most everything.  Over the past couple of months, the foods he will eat has narrowed down to just a few things:  strawberries, peaches, thin oatmeal, yogurt, applesauce, pancakes, milk, and juice.  He will also eat goldfish and pretzels which makes NO sense at all.  But once he chokes on something, he won't let it near his mouth (and if I manage to get it close, he throws up).

Luckily, after I explained what was going on with Brecken (and she knows our family history - we have had 7 surgeries with her already - 3 removing tonsils) and she looked in Brecken's mouth, she agreed that they need to come out!!!!  Unfortunately, she can't do it until October 27!  That means no trick-or-treating for Brecken but that is okay - he probably wouldn't have gone anyways.  Because he is so young, he will have to stay overnight at the hospital.  I am just so happy they are coming out - he is having such a hard time right now.  I feel so bad for him - it is not his fault.  It is going to be a long month, but at least his tonsils are coming out!
