I must say we had a GREAT time up in Park City! We spent our second day there at the Utah Olympic Park. Somehow we lucked out and were able to see the last freestyle aerial show of the season put on by the FLYING ACE ALL-STARS (some will be in the next winter Olympics). If you ever get the chance to go and see these guys/girls perform, you MUST go! It is amazing! They ski down ski runs and do CRAZY jumps into the water (which is NOT heated). Here are a couple of pictures of what they do:
There was even a snowboarder!
To end their show, they ALL go off together - I think 5 at first and then 5 more a few second later.
Truly amazing! LOVED it! All the kids LOVED it too!
Right after the show, Ed and the big 3 went to go down the zipline or alpine slide. I took the little 3 to get some lunch. Next time I will bring sandwiches for everyone. It is no fun when the little 3 all get hungry and cranky at once.
After we ate, we went and played on a little rock climbing wall while we waited for Ed and the big 3 to come down the Zipline.
So fun to see the actual 2002 Olympic ski runs right behind the kids.
Here come Matthew and Dallin down the zipline.
Not sure where the picture of Gavin went put here is Ed coming down.
After the zipline, we ALL rode the ski lift up to go down the Alpine Slide.
It was a really long wait - just over an hour! So glad it wasn't very hot and so glad there were LOTS of clouds!
Everyone was really good while waiting in line!
I couldn't get pictures of everyone - I went first with Brecken so I could get pictures of everyone coming down buy our slide would not go fast - at one point, on a downhill, we almost stopped - and I had it floored! So Dallin/Cameron caught up to me. I did get a picture of Gavin and then Ed/Kesley.
After the Alpine Slide, we went and did the ROPES COURSE in the Discovery Zone - I think it was called the Adventure Course. I had heard lots of stories about it (Ed and the big 3 had done it earlier in the day) and heard that it is really hard for the little ones. So even though Brecken was big enough, I was super nervous about letting him go. But her really really wanted to. He even told me
"I will be brave".
And let me tell you, he was so BRAVE!
Somehow almost all the kids had orange shirts on.
Look at him go - not scared at all!
Dallin did awesome! All the big FOUR did!
Bad picture but here goes Brecken - he never even hesitated!
Here goes Matthew across.
I was way more nervous than the boys!
Seriously, I was so impressed with Brecken!
At the end of the course, you jump off a platform and go down a zipline. I thought that Brecken would get scared at this point but he walked right up to the edge and jumped right off! Too bad we don't have a picture of it.
The big 3 and I hurried and went down another zipline real quick before the park closed at 6 (I need to remember that for next time).
How cute is everyone! What a fun day!
When we got back to the hotel, I went and got us pizza and then we went swimming in the indoor/outdoor pool - it was raining but the kids didn't care. I, on the other hand, did care - I thought it was cold. So I stayed in the indoor part of the pool.
Oh the looks you get with 6 little ones!
When we went back to our room, the kids got in the HOT jetted tub to warm up. Great end to a super fun day!
