We don't usual go anywhere on long weekends - just too hard with the little 3. But this Labor Day weekend, we decided to go up to Park City - after Dallin's Saturday morning football game of course.
I must say, it was a GREAT weekend! There were a few moments with the little 3 that I wondered why we were doing this but for the most part, all the kids were wonderful and had a lot of fun! I think we are going to do this every Labor Day!
We stayed at the Westgate which is in the Canyons up in Park City. We didn't get there until after lunch since Dallin had a football game. So we just went to the Canyons to ride the Gondola and hike around. When we got there, we saw that the "small" gondolas were running - they connect a lower parking lot to the resort for when there are bigger events there. The kids really wanted to ride it, and it was free, so we parked and rode the small gondolas up to the resort. The kids LOVED it!
I was a little nervous with the little ones on the small gondolas but the kids had fun!
Matthew, Kesley, and Brecken rode in one with me.
Ed, Dallin, Gavin, and Cameron rode in another gondola.
Once there, the kids played on a fun little playground before we got on the REAL gondola.
Here we are going up!
It was so nice to be up in the mountains and out of the heat. We lucked out and it was cloudy - we got sprinkled on but that was it.
At the top of the gondola ride, we hiked around a little bit.
The kids had a great time.
I was happy they all were able to hike by themselves and didn't really need to be carried . . .
except up this little hill - Ed carried Kesley up and Dallin carried Cameron up. But Brecken said he could do it himself!
Love the mountains!
Dallin is SO GOOD with Cameron!
We found this fun little bridge.
Sad Matthew wasn't in this picture - what cute kids!
We hiked up to a little lake.
The kids "skipped" rocks!
This is one of my favorite pictures from our weekend - Cameron and Ed!
Going back down from the little lake.
Back down the gondola - a couple of times. Then back to the hotel for dinner . . .
and of course the boys Fantasy Football Draft!
Cameron didn't care about the draft - he just wanted to read his MAP.
It was so much fun to watch the kids play games together.
They really like the Headbandz game - even if they didn't play by the rules.
We had 2 adjoining rooms - with 2 king beds and 2 pull-out beds. So we put the 3 little ones on one of the king beds. They didn't want to go to sleep the first night but after Ed laid by them, they finally stopped talking and giggling (which was so cute).
The big 3 and Ed played Clue and I did a puzzle! I LOVE puzzles but never have a chance to do them - so I brought one . . .
and finished it all the first night! It was so much fun! Of course it was an all chocolate puzzle! And obviously not a very difficult one if I finished it in a couple of hours - still loved it!
Seriously just a super fun day with just my little family! Love them!
