Wow! My sweet sweet Gavin is EIGHT! Where did the time go?
This boy is so thoughtful, and sweet, and helpful, and just fun to be around!
He started his birthday with balloons all over his floor. Then he had FRENCH TOAST and SCRAMBLED EGGS for breakfast. He did get to open a couple presents before school.
He got 4 tickets (for him, Ed, Matthew, and Dallin) to go see the new movie EPIC tonight (opening night) - he was so excited!
A shark towel - this boy LOVES sharks!
And a Ninjago Legos set - he LOVES Legos these days!
During school, I took donuts to his class and later checked him (and Matthew) out early - there are only 2 days of school left so he wasn't missing anything. Once Dallin got home from school, I took all the kids minus Brecken (he was at pre-school) to Orange Leaf for frozen yogurt.
It was fun to watch the twins eat theirs - they kept saying it was COLD!
After we got home, I FINALLY decorated his cake (I always do the cake the night before but I just didn't have the time or energy). I think he liked it!
SHARK!
Notice that the shirt he wore today had a shark on it!
Sorry, I had to take LOTS of pictures of the shark to see it from all sides.
The cake is 2 football shaped cakes (I used a football cake pan that I have). The fins are all card stock covered with packing tape and frosted.
The teeth are mini-marshmallows cut into triangles. The eyes are mini-marshmallows cut in half with a mini chocolate chip stuck in the middle.
Silly boy!
For dinner, he requested that we go to IHOP! So we ALL went!
After dinner he FINALLY got to open his last few presents.
He got Skylander Giants . . .
and some scary (at least to me) shark guy to go with it . . .
and his last present . . . he was so worried he wasn't going to get what he REALLY WANTED . . .
he really was nervous and scared . . .
but LUCKILY, he got it -
MINECRAFT for the computer.
Not sure how it is different than on the iPad, etc., but apparently it is.
Gavin sure LOVES his dad!
More pictures of the cake and the birthday boy!
Time to sing and eat cake!
He was one HAPPY boy! After cake, Ed and the big 3 went to see EPIC! They loved it and when they got home they played all Gavin's new games. I think it was a GOOD day for my FAVORITE 8-year old! Sure LOVE you Gavin!
