Get ready - this is going to be a long post (since I haven't had time in months to scrapbook) And ignore that only some of the pictures are centered - my computer is not cooperating. Matthew has his Secret Agent birthday party last week (2 days after Dallin's pool party).
The party started with the boys having to give the secret password to get into our house. Then they reported to Headquarters where they got their badges (I took pictures of each boy when we delivered their invitations), Spy hats, "briefcases" (brown gable boxes), binoculars, sunglasses, notepad, pen, magnifying glass and flashlight. They also got fingerprinted.

Once all the Secret Agents reported, they learned how to "DECIPHER CODE". I made decoding wheels for each boy. They each got a piece of paper with their code name on it that they had to decode.
After they learned to decipher code, they went through "OBSERVATIONAL SKILLS" training.

Next, the boys did "LASER AVOIDANCE" training. I taped red curling ribbon to the walls down the hallway. If they touched the "lasers" at all, they were out. The boys LOVED this! I thought they were getting bored with it and suggested we move onto the next training and they all said they wanted to keep doing the laser training.
I was super excited about the next training - "WEAPONS ASSEMBLY" training. We went to the basement and each boy got a kit filled with PVC, elbows, t's and caps - everything they needed to make a MARSHMALLOW GUN! Once they learned how to assemble their "guns" and practiced doing it, they got to decorate them with colored duck tape (which they LOVED)!
After learning to assemble their "guns", we moved onto "TARGET PRACTICE". Of course, to be safe (really just to be silly), they had to wear safety glasses (swimming goggles that I got at the dollar store). The boys shot their "bullets" (marshmallows) at a string of balloons I hung (I figured that way they would know if they hit the target because the balloons would move when they hit them).
Of course, after a while of target practice, it turned into a marshmallow war - which was fun!
Once all the SECRET AGENT TRAINING was complete, we went upstairs to open presents. But, instead the boys were sent on a MISSION! I explained that the presents had been stolen and a bomb attached to them (you can see it on the counter). The mission, if those chose to accept it, was to go to Webeckistan and take pictures of the plans for the "bomb" along with how to disarm it, then return and disable the "bomb". Then I handed the boys a coded message that they had to decode.
This is the "bomb" that Ed made. There was even a red light on the "bomb"!
The boys quickly went to the table where they had their decoding wheels and worked on decoding the secret message. The message said, "Locate plane tickets under table". I made each boy a boarding pass. The boarding passes said they were departing from "Denali / Yukie" - a clue for Matthew to go to my car.
All the boys got into my car where I gave them the whole buckle seats, tray table speech. Then I drove them to the backyard (so it is okay they were all in my car without seat belts, or even seats).
Once we got to "Webeckistan", I gave Secret Agent Eagle (Matthew) a message that told them to go inside and play the CD.
The video they watched gave them clues to get to the SAFEHOUSE. In the safe house, they were given a camera along with more info about their MISSION. They were told (with clues) where to find the briefcase containing the details on the "bomb" including a camera to take pictures of the info they find. They also were given a coded message that sent them to Cameron's room where they found half the combo to the briefcase.
In Cameron's room, they found half the combo and another coded message. This message sent them to Brecken's room where they found the second half of the combo.
Before they could get to the briefcase, they had to go through the "lasers".
Once in the room, they opened the briefcase and took pictures of what was in the briefcase - pictures of the "bomb" and instructions on disarming the "bomb".
The boys were so excited to DISARM the "bomb"!
Once the boys completed their mission, we had cake and opened presents. I think it turned out to be a fun party!
Matthew and one of his friends (Jake).
Happy Birthday Matthew! Sure love you!

Very cool ideas, I'm going to use them for VBS. But how do you make a marshmallow gun?
Tina - I googled marshmallow gun tutorial and find lots of sites that told you how to make them. Here is one I just found http://welovebeingmoms.blogspot.com/2012/06/15-marshmallow-guns.html
I think the guys we made where a little different (a little longer), but basically the same. Good luck!
