My sister keeps bugging me for pictures from Gavin's party on Saturday so since it might be a long time before I scrapbook it (I have another party to start on, end of school stuff, Lake Powell, etc - you get the idea) I figured I would just put some of the pictures up. These are pictures of BEFORE the party - so some of the decorations. I was happy with everything I did I just wish I had had time to do more - more of the little details that no one would notice but me but they would have made me happier and feel better about the party. Anyway, here we go - sorry this will be a long post.
Stuffed Red Angry Birds I MADE!
Stuffed Angry Birds PIGS I MADE!
Not a good picture but I made red Angry Birds (yarn pom poms) that I sent home with the kids with some small plastic cups, a homemade slingshot (I need to take a picture of that), some popsicle sticks and a Green Pig (another yarn pom pom) so they could play their own Angry Birds at home.
Super fun Piñata that I MADE!!! It was fun to make! I have never made one before. I only did 3 layers (Ed said not to do more) but I should have. It was still super cute!
Gatorade with new labels!
The cake! I am not one to use fondant much but this time I MADE marshmallow fondant and did the whole cake in fondant (with buttercream frosting under the fondant). The fondant was super easy to make and not horrible tasting. Everything was either made out of fondant or tootsie rolls. I was happy with it but still wish I had more time!
Fondant Angry Birds.
Top of cake - slingshot, birds and pigs.
I needed one more treat for the table but I ran out of time to make the Angry Bird cake pops - UGH! But I did have Ed make these little tables for me - Angry Birdish.
The bags and instructions for the play at home Angry Birds game (I need to take a picture of one of the games)
More bags that went home with the kids filled with the stuffed red Angry bird, pig, an Angry Birds mini-kite and Angry Bird fruit snacks.
Angry Bird balloon decorations.
Dallin helped hang the balloons and streamers!
Table set-up complete with Angry Bird posters in the windows (that Gavin gets to put up in his room - maybe) and a homemade Angry Birds birthday banner. We did hang up the piñata later and smash it - but it was a cute centerpiece at first.
Angry Bird kickballs that I painted for our life-size Angry Birds game in the backyard.
That is it for now - I will try to post pictures from the actual party soon!
