Becca's Bridal Shower

Last week I threw a bridal shower for our sweet friend Becca - she is more than a friend, she is most definitely FAMILY!  I had so much fun getting ready for her shower - I hope she enjoyed the shower and knows how much me and my family love her!

Here are all the details:

I had a bouquet of white fake flowers and tulle on the front door (all purchased at Hobby Lobby).  I always feel better when I know I am at the right house.  I also put a please come in sign on the door (a must - I hate trying to run a party and man the door).
Just inside my house, I had a table set up with pictures from when Jordan proposed to Becca.  The third frame has the back of her invitation on it - "he asked . . . she said yes".  Then I had a book with pictures of the LDS Temples in it.  I had a sign explaining to find a picture of their favorite Temple and write a note to Becca or just congratulate her.  I did this because she is not having a reception - instead she is having a sit-down family dinner so the people at her shower would not be at her reception and I wanted her to know they support her.  Plus, now she has a nice book to keep and even use at her wedding dinner if she wants.

I had the "SOON TO BE MRS SUMSION" sign made on Etsy.  I was going to make it but just didn't have the time.  I put it up on my fireplace mantel just above where she was going to sit to open presents.
On my kitchen counter, I had this engagement picture of Jordan and Becca - so adorable!

I put this picture next to a "date night jar".
Here people could write fun date night ideas on tongue depressors for Jordan & Becca to use later.
I also had a jar of "Becca's Favorite" candy - Dove Milk Chocolate.
In the middle of my counter, I had these signs - which I think are fun!

For drinks, I had a soda bar - which is so much fun!  I had all kinds of sodas and a couple of different flavorings (strawberry, vanilla, coconut) to add to the sodas along with limes - it was fun!
I even had some fun, tall mason jars to make the drinks in and cute ice buckets.
Here is the chandelier above my kitchen table.  I LOVE how it turned out!
And here is the food table.  It was so hard to get good pictures of the table at 7:00 at night - horrible lighting but I tried.

I had a Fruit Pizza Bar - with sugar cookies and lots of different fruit.
I even made fun little signs explaining what to do.
More pictures of the Fruit Pizza Bar.
The topping for the sugar cookies is a mixture of cool whip, cream cheese, and cream of coconut - SO YUMMY!
What would a dessert bar (at least at my house) be without CHOCOLATE.  So I made my Fancy Toffee Brownies and Chocolate Covered Strawberries.
Salted Caramel Chocolate mini-Cupcakes
I tried something new this time - I tried making Macaroons!  For Mother's Day, I gave my mom (and I) a class that taught us how to make macaroons.  I will say, I was VERY happy with how they turned out (for the most part).  I definitely learned a lot but with some tricks we learned in class, they aren't terribly difficult - and SO YUMMY!  I made 4 different kinds.

CHOCOLATE MACAROONS with a CHOCOLATE GANACHE FILLING

These turned out the worst!  I think I know how to fix the peaks.

These are my FAVORITE!!

Her is the guest of honor - Becca - and her soon to be Mother-in-Law
Kesley got to come to the party since it was just for girls and she LOVES Becca!
Here are some pictures of the party guests!

Kesley and another little girl (Madi) "helped" Becca unwrap her presents.
My favorite thing from the night was Becca and what she did after every present she opened.  After she opened a present, she would scan the room for the person(s) that gave her the present, get up and give them a hug and tell they how much she loved it - so sweet!

Becca's dad made a video of Becca & Jordan answering questions.  I was going to show a couple questions at a time all through the night but everyone wanted to watch the whole thing.  It was the sweetest video!
 More party guests!
Some of the little girls helped give date night ideas - so funny!
The lighting got a little better so I tried taking more pictures of the dessert bar.
 More guests.
Becca and her cute sister Kimmie!

Becca, Kimmie, & their adorable mom!
Here are pictures of the pictures in my windows - I had to wait for it to be dark outside for me to be able to take pictures of my fun windows.
I had to end my post with this picture - what beautiful ladies!  I had so much fun putting this party together - I hope it was all Becca hoped for!  I am just sad we didn't get a picture of us together.
