This turned out to be such a FUN party! I was really worried about decorating for it until I thought of making a "sky" out of the plastic table clothes you can buy at party stores. I ended up buying 2 rolls of light blue table clothes from Zurcher's - I used about 1 1/4 rolls but I LOVE how it turned out!
Sorry for all the pictures of the "sky" but I was so happy with it! We actually kept it up for almost 2 weeks after the party.
I found super fun orange chevron wrapping paper at Rod Works (random) that I used as table runners. LOVED it!
Brecken was so EXCITED for his party! I found the DUSTY cut-out at Zurcher's. I got it for $10 because it was a little banged up - PERFECT! It will soon be hung up in Brecken's room (which is decorated in CARS stuff).
More pictures - my chandelier definitely came in handy decorating.
I made a little Happy Birthday Brecken sign.
Got this poster online (I think on Amazon). It will go in Brecken's room soon too.
The white tissue ball is suppose to be a CLOUD. I made the fun BRECKEN sign to look like the PLANES sign from the movie.
I needed something on the counter - this was easy.
I made a bunch of these CROP DUSTERS out of clothes pins that I spray painted orange, 2 regular sized popsicle sticks, 3 smaller popsicle sticks, and a wooden ball (all bought at Hobby Lobby). I had these hanging from the chandelier, on the table, and on the food table. Super easy to make and so cute!
A plane must have JET FUEL. So I made a couple of different labels to go on the BLUE and ORANGE gatorades.
I think kids do better with cupcakes (and they are just easier), so I bought these cool cupcake wrappers on Etsy - actually, it is just a digital file ($4 I think) that you buy, download, print and cut out. So cute! The kids LOVED them!
I wasn't sure what other food to have besides the cupcakes and ice cream. So we had "in-flight SNACKS" - just snacks that come in little individual bags.
I like to decorate my entry for parties (Halloween had to come down for the day). This was the BAGGAGE CLAIM area.
I found this fabric on walmart.com - so adorable. We made them into little backpacks for the kids to take home. I forgot to take pictures of what was inside - I put a DUSTY foam airplane, PLANES stickers, and some other toy planes they could make, and a little candy (Brecken's favorites), and punching balloons.
Each bag had a LUGGAGE TAG with the kids' names on them.
We had a couple of PLANE related games. For one of them I made a runway out of black butcher paper and white tape. The kids got to make little gliders (just assembled them - easy) and then they got to throw them down the runway. The LOVED it!
We took those same gliders and the kids got to throw them at the balloons and tried to get them through the hula hoop. Surprisingly fun for the kids.
The last "game" we did was out at the HANGER. I made each kid a PLANE out of a small cardboard box (from Lowe's). I spray painted each orange (should have done more coats but I ran out of time). Put wings on each plane. Put the #7 on the back (Dusty's number in the movie), and put a silver propeller (out of silver posterboard) on each one.
The kids got to decorate them and then we had races in the backyard and they got to take them home.
I will post about the actual party soon - too many pictures to do that now. I LOVED how it all turned out! Wish I had more time to do more but Brecken was happy so it was all GOOD!

Wow, you seriously amaze me. Do you live on those 5 hour energy drinks or what? lol This is adorable.
How can I get images for signs (snacks, baggage claim, jet fuel etc.)?
