Morning at the Zoo

The week the Big 3 started school and before Brecken started Kindergarten, I tried taking the Little 3 on some mini-adventures.  So our first mini-adventure was to the Hogle Zoo - one of our favorite places to go.  We have a season pass so I don't feel bad if we are only there for an hour - and they are adding new stuff (like the polar bear last year) so it is a fun zoo (in my opinion - but nothing like San Diego).
Kesley had to sit on the big elephant!
The mommy elephant and her baby were so much fun.  They were making so much noise - I had never heard them before.  The mommy elephant kept acting like she was going to charge this big toy of hers but then would just walk to it and ram into it - it was a lot of fun to watch.
The zoo had Lego animals all over the zoo - the Little 3 really liked the one of the Polar Bear.
The giraffes is one of their favorite stops.
Of course Gram came with us - so much more fun when she comes!
I think the kids like to come to the zoo in part just to get a map - all 3 little ones LOVE the map and they each have to have their own.
 How silly are these kids!
The tiger was so cool this time.  He kept going in and out of the water and looking right at us.  They are such BIG, SCARY animals!
What is a trip to the zoo without riding the carousel!  Kesley was in heaven as soon as she got on.
Brecken and Cameron (who is further in so you can't see him) had to warm up to the idea of being on an animal - even though they both were so excited to ride the carousel.  Once they calmed down, they loved it.
I think the real reason they like going to the zoo is for the ICE CREAM.  They will even tell you what animals we are going to see and they always end it with, "and then we get ice cream".  Luckily, I LOVE the ice cream at the zoo so I am all for getting ice cream every time!
These Little 3 are getting to be so much fun - and it isn't horrible to take them places anymore - still a lot of work but a lot more fun too!
