Valentine's Day 2013

What a FUN Valentine's Day we had!  This was the first year I had SIX kids that needed to take Valentine's to school.  And it was fun to make one for a girl to give!

These are Cameron's Valentine's.  I did this one before but loved it (and still had shovels) so I did it again.  It is a bag with M&Ms and a shovel with a tag that says "I dig you".  I did add a tag on the back that had a picture of Cameron and said "Happy Valentine's Day!  Your friend Cameron".  Super cute.  But I guess he didn't want to pass them out in pre-school.  He wanted to keep them!  Luckily, he did finally decide he could pass them out.
How cute is Cameron?

These are Kesley's Valentine's.  The tag says "Bibbety-Bobbidi-Boo! Happy Valentine's Day to you!  Love Kesley".  I bought the Magic Wand tubes on Etsy.  LOVE them!  When I asked her if her friends at pre-school liked them, she said, "Yes.  They said they were cute.  But the boys didn't like them."
(oh I hate Blogger sometimes - it won't let me put the pictures where I want to).

Kesley had the treat bucket on Valentine's day - so of course I had to make a Valentine treat.  It was a really simple one though - just a Rice Krispy treat in the shape of a heart, with the top dipped in white chocolate, and put on a polka dot straw.  Super fun!

These are Matthew's Valentine's - it definitely gets harder as they get older.  I just stapled the tag "You ROCK!  Happy Valentine's Day! - Matthew" to a thing of POP ROCKS.  He thought they were cool!
Matthew got to make a box for his Valentine's - he came up with the idea to have a basketball hoop so the kids could SHOOT the Valentine's into his box.  It turned out pretty COOL.
I volunteered to help with his class party.  The room mom asked me to bring drinks.  I say this idea on Our Best Bites.  They had a downloadable label but I didn't like it so I made my own - more boy and kid friendly.  I found these little bottles of Hawaiian Punch at Wal-Mart.  I didn't even take the original label off the bottles.  I just hot glued mine over them.  And I did put a dab of hot glue on the straws before putting the bakers twine on them - it was too hard to get the straws on otherwise.  LOVE these!  I will do these again!
Dallin wasn't too excited about doing Valentine's this year - he is a big 6th grader!  I did talk him into these though - nothing lovey about them.  Just a regular size bag of M&Ms stapled to this label, "wishing you a M&M {Most Marvelous} Valentine's Day - Dallin W."  I saw this idea on Pinterest - originally from Pioneer Party - but I recreated it.  Super fun for older kids.
These are Gavin's Valentine's.  By far the most time intensive but SO WORTH the time!  I LOVE them!  And more importantly, Gavin LOVED them!  I found the template online (I pinned it on Pinterest).  I did simplify it by using some of my scrapbooking punches for lots of the small parts.  The Angry Bird faces are put around a Tootsie Pop.  So so fun!
Gavin got to make a box for his Valentine's too.  This one was SO easy to make.  I bought a cardboard cylinder at Hobby Lobby, had Ed cut a slit in the top, painted it red, and cut out the face from the balloon faces I used for Gavin's birthday last year.  I did put little pieces of wood on the bottom to keep it from rolling.

Here are the Valentine's I made for my friends and the kids' teachers.  They are red velvet heart shaped cupcakes, with the bottoms dipped in white chocolate and cream cheese frosting on top.

Here are the kids on Valentine's morning with their little Valentine's from me and Ed.  The big 2 got iTunes cards and these silly snowball makers/shooters (that I got on clearance at Target).
Since Kesley LOVES to have tea parties, she got a PRINCESS tea set.  She was so happy!

Cameron got a super fun BUCKY pop-up ship - the 3 little ones LOVE to play Jake and the Neverland Pirates so all 3 little ones were super excited about it!
Gavin has been wanting a new Wii game so he got Mater's Tall Tales.
Brecken LOVES Thomas the Train so he got a little game rug so he can play with his trains on it.

I had wanted to do this hair on Kesley last year but didn't have the right tool.  So this year, I made the tool (since I forgot to buy it).  Not bad for my first time!  Just wish I had cuter ribbon to tie bows with.  Oh well!
These 3 just make me smile!  The twins were so excited to go to pre-school!
Here are Brecken's Valentine's.  The tag on each balloon said, "Go ahead BURST my bubble" and had a tooth pick attached.  Inside was a tag that said, "I hope your Valentine's Day is BURSTING with fun! - Brecken".  I put some smarties inside the balloon.  The kids in Brecken's pre-school LOVED it!
Kesley was so funny about her Rice Krispy treat she took to school  - she just LICKED the chocolate!
Here is the sweet Valentine that Dallin and Gavin made for me!
There were LOTS of tea parties that day!
This was probably my favorite part of the day - when a paper airplane came down from upstairs with my name on it.  On the inside it said, "I love you!  From Gavin".  What is better than that!

Sure LOVE all my Valentine's!
