Photoshop Elements Pages

This past weekend, Michelle T. and I went to a scrapbook retreat up in Park City put on by Digital Scrapbook Memories. We had a fabulous time (I will blog more about that later) and can't wait to go again next year. At the retreat, they taught us how to scrapbook using Photoshop Elements. We learned tons of fun things (changing colors in pictures, removing color, changing heads, etc.) but Michelle T. and I are not convinced, at least not yet, to use Photoshop Elements instead of Memory Mixer. Memory Mixer is just so fast and easy. You can definitely do more in PS Elements but right now I just don't have the time. I am so far behind as it is. But, I can see myself doing a few things here and there in PS Elements (and then finishing in MM). The 2 pages above are pages I made in PS Elements. I made the one of Cameron in a "Speed Scrap" - very stressful but I like how it turned out. Then back in our hotel room, I changed the colors of the papers, etc. and made the page of Kesley.
One of these days I will do more in PS Elements - but for now, I LOVE Memory Mixer!

I love, love, LOVE Photoshop for photo processing. I spend way to much time playing around with editing photos. But I haven't used it for scrapbooking.

I'm not sure if you know this, but there are a ton of free actions you can get for photoshop elements where you just press a button and it does all the work for you. Then you don't have to know as much :)

How fun to go on a scrapbooking retreat! I love that pic of Kesley.

What the heck is memory mixer? I only use elements, but would love something similar. Does memory mixer have an option for doing 8x11's? That's still my format. I love elements but it is definitely time consuming!

Oh Rachel - Memory Mixer is WONDERFUL! It isn't like Elements - it is really a point and click scrapbooking program. You can do square, landscape or portrait pages (landscape and portrait can be 8x11 or 4x6 or 5x7). You can use any embellishments and fonts and papers on your computer and it comes with lots of embellishments and papers. You should go to their website www.memorymixer.com - I think they have a trial version and the newest version is only $50 (if I remember correctly). It is great!

I started with Memory Mixer years ago when Scott was in MBA school--I agree it's a great program. But have used Elements for the past two years and have grown to love it even more. There's just so many unique ways you can manipulate your pages that can't be done in Memory mixer which is why I switched. :)
Love the pages you did and glad you had a fun weekend at your retreat!

One of these years, I REALLY want to go to that weekend with you. I've been wanting to learn more PS stuff. Cute pages. I don't do many Speed scraps but I always love what I do when I do it. Your pages turned out super cute.
