My cute little former neighbor / former babysitter is getter married in about 2 weeks and last night I threw a bridal shower for her.
DECORATIONS (all of which I copied from Pinterest):
I started with the front door. I made a veil/bouquet to put on my front door so when people drove up to my house they would instantly know they were in the right place - so simple and so easy to make!
I saw these on Pinterest but they were all on chalkboards. I hate my handwriting and I wanted to stick to Nicole's colors - mint green and royal blue - so I made these in PhotoShop Elements, printed them at Costco, found cheap frames at Michaels, painted them and taped the "pictures" to the back. I also liked doing it this way because I could use all the same colors, fonts, etc from the invitation I made. The LOVE I bought at Hobby Lobby and painted and tied ribbon around them. I did also tie white and royal blue chair wraps around my barstools to add color - you can see the top of them in the picture below.
Also, behind my food table, in my kitchen windows, I hung pictures of Nicole and John (her fiancé) from royal blue ribbon with tissue balls, etc in between the ribbon - but it was hard to get a picture of it. You can see it a little in some of the food pictures and the picture below.
I consider my food table part of the decorations. I hung big tissue balls from my chandelier along with wedding bells and other tissue type decorations. The royal blue and mint green tissue balls I bought on Etsy, the white ones I made for a previous party, and the rest I bought at Zurchers. Then I strung white ribbon from the chandelier to the ends of my table and secured them with a little tape. I LOVE how it turned out. I liked it so much that it is still up!
FOOD:
Here are some pictures of the dessert bar.
The main part of the dessert bar was a build your own mini fruit pizza (I should have made signs explaining that - oh well, there is always next time). I had sugar cookies, chocolate sugar cookies, and lemon bread to use as the "pizza crust". I had a whipped cream, cream cheese, cream of coconut mixture to spread on the cookies. Then I had raspberries, kiwi, blackberries, pineapple, and strawberries to put on top.
Mini-cheesecakes - I just made plain ones since I had all kinds of fruit people could put on them - so I guess they were also kind of the "pizza crust".And who doesn't like chocolate covered strawberries so we had to have those too.
Fancy Toffee Brownies - these are one of my favorite treats and since Nicole said she loves brownies and sugar cookies these were a must.
These cupcakes are my absolute FAVORITE! I never made them as mini-cupcakes before but I wanted to try and they were delicious (at least I thought so). They are SALTED CARAMEL CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES - YUM!
Here are a couple more pictures of the dessert bar from the other side of the table.
We also had Brazillian lemonade to drink (thanks to Melanie) - yum. Wish I had a picture of it.
GAMES:
Michelle T helped with two little "games". The first was just having everyone write a date night idea on tongue depressors. The second game was "he said she said". Everyone had a stick with a princess crown on one side and a mustache on the other. She asked Nicole and John questions and told us how one of them answered and we had to guess if HE SAID it or if SHE SAID it. We did a few questions in between unwrapping presents. It was fun to learn a little more about them.
I think it turned out well - hopefully Nicole had a good time! It was fun to throw a non-little kid party (even though I LOVE LOVE LOVE doing that).

you are amazing too my friend. I wish we could go into business together. Wouldn't that be fun? Here's the thing... your parties are way better than mine, because your food is awesome and you always provide so many yummy options. I hate doing the food portion of my parties :-) I need to hire you to do that for me :-) So, cute.
